(SEMASA) McDonald’s Annual Happy Meal Book Program 2016 Commences with Nationwide Story-telling Contest for Children

winners-with-ronald-mcdonald-and-mcdonalds-staffKuala Lumpur, 20 October 2016 – McDonald’s Malaysia has recently announced the kick-off of a nationwide story telling contest, organised in conjunction with its annual Happy Meal Book Programme. Parents can submit entries showcasing their child’s talents until the 26th of October through Instagram and by confirming their participation on McDonald’s official website[i]. Held for the first time ever on a big scale by McDonald’s Malaysia, the contest offers up to RM70,000.00 worth of prizes to be won including a family holiday to Warner Bros. Movie World theme park in Australia[ii] as the grand prize.

This year’s program promises to be bigger and more exciting than ever before as we are shining a light on hidden or emerging talents in our children through the nationwide storytelling contest,” said Melati Abdul Hai, Senior Director Marketing and Communications, McDonald’s Malaysia.

With the exciting line-up of activities targeting Malaysian families to be held at our restaurants including our annual Happy Meal Book Program, we hope to be able to do our part in building stronger families within our communities,” added Melati.

At the conclusion of the submission period, all video entries will be screened with shortlisted entries selected to perform their stories in ‘live’ auditions to be hosted at selected McDonald’s restaurants nationwide. What’s more, shortlisted applicants will also stand a chance to score their school supplementary prizes worth up to RM5,000.00. The Grand Finale will be held on the 3rd December 2016 with details on time and venue to be announced later.
