Caltex announced the winners of the Caltex JOURNEY Card Swipe and Drive promotion that was jointly organised by Chevron Malaysia Limited and BLoyalty Sdn. Bhd. (BCARD), signaling the end of yet another successful promotion.

The promotion, which ran for an initial period of three months, from November 2014 to February 2015, was extended following the overwhelming and positive response from Caltex customers nationwide.

“We at Caltex are thrilled at the response generated from the Caltex JOURNEY Card loyalty programme and the Swipe and Drive promotion. We take great satisfaction in the fact that we are able to reward our loyal customers and add value to their visit to any Caltex station. Our customers are in reality our best brand ambassadors. We are constantly looking at ways to improve our customer experience journey when visiting any Caltex station, and both the Caltex JOURNEY Card loyalty programme and Swipe and Drive promotion are manifestations of this commitment,” said Chevron Malaysia Country Chairman, Shahid Ahmed.

He added, “The customers are our main priority. We believe in making the customers’ journey more enjoyable, be it in the form of products, services or making every visit to our Caltex stations a memorable one.”

There was plenty of excitement abuzz at the prize giving ceremony for both sets of category winners. For the January 15 – February 14 period, a total of 111 winners were announced with Mohd Hasif Idris, aged 36 from Selangor, winning the much-coveted Mazda 3 SkyActiv prize.  Ten winners bagged home HTC One E8 smartphones worth RM1,699 each and the rest received the Caltex Star Cash worth RM200 each. For the 15 February – 14 March extended period, a total of 112 winners were announced with Ng Kok Wei, aged 24 from Kuala Lumpur, winning the grand prize of a brand new Mazda CX-5, followed by Bakhtiar Ahmad, from Penang who won the luxurious HTC One M8 24k gold clad smartphone. The remaining 10 and 100 winners received a HTC Desire EYE worth RM1,699, and Caltex Star Cash worth RM200, respectively.

Under the Swipe and Drive promotion, motorists with either the Caltex JOURNEY Card or BCARD just needed to spend a minimum of RM40 on petrol at any participating Caltex service station to be eligible to participate and stand a chance to win attractive prizes.

“We are very pleased with this promotion and the excitement it has created. We view this partnership between Chevron and BLoyalty as a strategic one as it adds value for our mutual customers. Caltex has a reputation of offering high quality services and products and the JOURNEY Card is another great achievement,” said Gary Yeoh, Director of BLoyalty Sdn. Bhd.

The Caltex JOURNEY Card Loyalty programme, a programme which aims to reward customers by adding value to petrol purchases at Caltex service stations as well as purchases at other BCARD partner outlets, was launched by Chevron Malaysia Limited in partnership with BLoyalty Sdn. Bhd. on January 15 last year. Currently there is approximately 620,000 members’ to-date.

Under this partnership, Caltex JOURNEY Card holders can also earn and redeem BPoints from more than 70 BCARD merchants at over 2,800 outlets nationwide, apart from purchases made at Caltex stations.

Its grand launch on Monday greeted the guests with an interesting array of welcome refreshments. Mr. Jay Lee, the Director of Palazzo Viva graduated from the University of Melbourne, majoring in Mechanical Engineering & Management. He is also the Business Development Director & Head of Design in S.Kian Seng Group of Companies (SKS). One cannot help but to wonder how did a Mechanical Engineer / Business Development Director / Head of Design ended up in attempting to break through the F&B industry.

“The answer lies in the insights and experiences that I had gathered throughout the years in F&B related businesses. What I learned had inspired me to introduce a unique dining concept to Malaysia’s F&B industry. Customers are welcomed to savour the very best of combination in design, flavours and textures with a range of 32 macaron flavours, 24 gourmet mignons and cakes. Tip: These delectable treats are best paired with a cup of Palazzo special blend coffee, a medium roast micro lot beans from Costa Rica; or enjoy it with The Palazzo Fizz, a Moet and Chandon base cocktail with infusions from fresh fruits and rosemary.

The event continued to fill the bellies of guests who longed for more scrumptious signature dishes by Palazzo Viva’s culinary experts. The dishes served were Tuna Tataki with carrot puree, peas, crispy rice, curry powder and lime olive oil; My Green Garden Soup with peas, broccoli, asparagus, mint, beef bacon and crispy rice; smoked salmon with potato puree, salmon egg roe, pepper, lemon wedge, served on toast; and last but not least, seared Angus beef tenderloin with carrot and roasted Belgian endive. Every dish on that evening was presented perfectly mouth-watering, as when it left the kitchen.

(SUKAN) Dejdamrong Sor Amnuaysirichoke fights for ONE Strawweight World Championship

When former Lumpinee Muay Thai world champion Dejdamrong Sor Amnuaysirichoke (MMA: 4-0), began fighting for a living, he recalled being nervous.

He approached his impending matchup with another man in the ring much like all men would when faced with the hard fact that, in just a few, short minutes, he would quite literally be in the fight of his life.

Professional fighting is a highly personal affair. Fighters put so much on the line when they step into the ring, into the cage, that it hits them in the core. So much goes into preparation for a fight, hours upon hours spent tiring away at the gym, personal time away from loved ones, entrenched in solitude.

They say fighting means discovering oneself, and for “Kru Rong” as he’s called in short, it’s always meant the world to him.

“Growing up wasn’t a smooth journey for me as my family wasn’t well off. My parents would have to travel to work in other parts of the country just to support the family,” said Dejdamrong, recalling his tough upbringing.

“To help ease my parents’ burden, I supported my family by competing in Muay Thai, hence the sport means a lot to me and my family.”

After making a name for himself and winning multiple titles in Muay Thai, Dejdamrong decided it was time for a different challenge, one that called for him to take it up a notch and try his hand at mixed martial arts. In 2014, Dejdamrong joined ONE Championship’s flyweight ranks and was easily a fighter to look out for.

Dejdamrong added that besides the challenge offered by MMA, his move to Singapore to be part of the Evolve MMA team and training alongside other world champions made him fall in love with MMA even more.

Because of an impressive pedigree obtained throughout his Muay Thai career, all eyes were on Dejdamrong as he made his debut inside the ONE cage. Much was expected from the 36-year old Thai.

When asked about his debut fight with ONE last year, Dejdamrong said, “I was really excited to show the world how much I have diversified as a fighter after training with the team at Evolve. I was mentally prepared and went out strong with my team backing me.

“My debut with ONE is definitely one of the most memorable fights in my life.”

After going unbeaten in his first four fights for the promotion, with two wins by submission and two by devastating knockout, Dejdamrong is up for a new challenge.

On May 22, at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Singapore, he steps back into the ONE cage, this time, to fight for a world championship.

“I am very excited to be back again with ONE to now fight for a title.,” he said.

With ONE’s flyweight division stacked, and ONE Flyweight World Champion Adriano “Mikinho” Moraes reigning supreme, Dejdamrong realized an opportunity was present at strawweight. Dropping down to 115 lbs., Dejdamrong makes his debut in ONE’s lightest weight division in a title fight.

Dejdamrong will go up against a formidable foe, former Filipino pro-boxer, Roy “The Pilipino Badboy” Doliguez (Boxing: 18-19-9, 11 KO).

Like Dejdamrong, Doliguez originated from a different combat sport and has enjoyed relative success since transitioning to mixed martial arts. Doliguez stands at six wins, with only one loss inside the MMA cage.

More than a title however, is the prestige a world title brings to Dejdamrong’s family and his country.

“I would like to win the inaugural ONE Strawweight World Championship title! Being the first ever Muay Thai world champion to compete for a MMA world championship title means the world to me and it shows how much I have improved as a MMA fighter,” said Dejdamrong.

“Of course, this wouldn’t have been possible without the guidance of all my other team-mates on the Evolve Fight Team.”

If Dejdamrong comes prepared for his ONE world title shot like he had in his first four fights with the promotion, his opponent is in serious trouble.

SEPANG, 7 MEI 2015 – AirAsia telah menghasilkan t-shrit #AirAsiaMAKNA dengan rekaan terhad bagi mengumpul dana untuk Majlis Kanser Nasional Malaysia (MAKNA), dengan harga RM30 sehelai.  T-shirt tersedia dalam saiz dewasa dan kanak-kanak bagi kedua lelaki dan perempuan.

Direka dan dihasilkan oleh AirAsia Allstars (staff AirAsia) sendiri, t-shirt ini memaparkan rekaan uniform ikonik kapten dan pramugari AirAsia yang membawa logo MAKNA dan slogan ‘A Meaning To Life’ di bahagian belakang t-shirt tersebut; mengutus mesej positif sebagai sebahagian dari kempen CSR ini.

Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif AirAsia Berhad, Aireen Omar berkata, “Kesemua hasil dari jualan t-shirt ini akan disalurkan terus kepada Majlis Kanser Nasional Malaysia. Kuala Lumpur, 8 Mei 2015 – KFC dan Pizza Hut Malaysia baru-baru ini telah memberikan sumbangan berjumlah RM400,000.00 kepada empat buah Badan Bukan Kerajaan (NGO) tempatan sebagai memenuhi sebahagian daripada inisiatif Program Pengagihan Dana World Hunger Relief (WHR) melalui kerjasama dengan agensi tempatan.

Persatuan Kebajikan HOPE Worldwide Kuala Lumpur, Pertiwi Soup Kitchen, Kechara Soup Kitchen Society, dan Persatuan Bulan Sabit Merah Malaysia (PBSMM) merupakan antara badan-badan yang terpilih untuk menerima dana kempen WHR yang telah diperuntukkan bagi program usaha sama ini. Badan-badan ini masing-masing telah menerima sumbangan sebanyak RM100,000.00, dan akan menjalankan misi bersama-sama dengan program WHR KFC & Pizza Hut Malaysia bagi menghulurkan bantuan makanan kepada individu yang kurang bernasib baik di seluruh Malaysia.

“Kami amat berbesar hati kerana HOPE, Pertiwi, Kechara dan PBSMM sudi bekerjasama dengan pihak  kami dalam mendekati golongan miskin tegar dan gelandangan, dengan harapan untuk menghulurkan bantuan kepada mereka yang memerlukan,” kata Ahmad Taufek Omar, Ketua Pegawai Pemasaran Digital & Teknologi Maklumat, KFC Malaysia.

“Kami juga ingin mengambil kesempatan ini untuk sekali lagi mengucapkan terima kasih kepada pelanggan-pelanggan KFC & Pizza Hut atas sumbangan mereka kepada tabung WHR ini. Melalui kemurahan hati yang ditunjukkan oleh pelanggan-pelanggan kami, KFC dan Pizza Hut mampu untuk mengumpul dana dan seterusnya menyalurkannya kepada individu-individu yang memerlukan di seluruh Malaysia,” tambah beliau.

Kempen WHR KFC dan Pizza Hut Malaysia telah berjaya mengumpul sejumlah RM2.6 juta pada tahun lepas. Inisiatif tahunan untuk membantu membasmi isu kebuluran di dunia ini telah berjaya mengumpulkan dana melalui kempen selama tiga bulan bermula pada Jun 2014. Kempen ini telah menyeru kepada pelanggan-pelanggan yang bermurah hati untuk menderma melalui tabung derma yang disediakan dan juga melalui pembelian set hidangan WHR di rangkaian restoran KFC dan Pizza Hut (set hidangan yang dijual di bawah promosi ini dikenakan caj tambahan RM0.50  yang kemudiannya disalurkan kepada tabung WHR).

Sebahagian daripada dana ini telah disalurkan kepada United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) manakala sebahagian besar pula disalurkan ke seluruh Malaysia.

Program Pengagihan Dana WHR yang telah dilancarkan pada tahun lepas juga dijangka akan semakin berkembang dengan penglibatan pelbagai NGO lain yang akan menjadi penggerak dalam usaha mengagihkan dana tersebut. Selain daripada NGO yang dinyatakan di atas, Program Pengagihan Dana WHR ini juga turut bekerjasama dengan Yayasan Orang Kurang Upaya Kelantan (YOKUK), Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat dan Jabatan Pendidikan.

Program ini juga akan secara berterusan mencari keluarga dan individu yang memerlukan bantuan di seluruh Malaysia dengan menyediakan makanan, barangan keperluan dapur serta bantuan kewangan selama enam bulan dengan harapan supaya sumbangan ini dapat meringankan beban dan juga membuka peluang mereka untuk memperbaiki taraf kehidupan.

Program Pengagihan Dana ini dijangka dapat menyediakan hidangan makanan kepada lebih 300,000 individu di Malaysia.

Ciri Lane Keeping Aid Ford akan mengesan sekiranya pemandu memandu keluar dari laluan mereka secara tidak sengaja dengan memantau garis pada jalan raya. Jika masalah sama terus berulang, sistem yang canggih ini akan membawa pemandu kembali ke laluan yang betul dengan mengenakan kuasa tork pada stereng, dengan syarat indikator telah dipasang.

Mondeo baharu juga dilengkapi kamera belakang yang membolehkan pemandu dapat melihat dengan jelas apa yang berlaku di bahagian belakang kenderaan. Sementara bunyi ‘beep’ yang dikeluarkan oleh alat pengesan parkir memberitahu jarak kenderaan kepada pemandu. Sistem ini juga memperlahankan muzik bagi membolehkan pemandu mendengar isyarat ‘beep’ dengan lebih jelas.

Pelan Servis Lanjutan Ford

Mondeo baharu hadir bersama Pelan Servis Lanjutan Ford (ESP) untuk menawarkan ketenangan minda kepada para pelanggannya. ESP Ford adalah program penyelenggaraan selama tiga tahun atau perbatuan sejauh 60,000km yang meliputi kos alat ganti dan buruh secara percuma.

Kedai baru ini merangkumi kawasan permukaan sebanyak kira-kira 1,100 kaki persegi yang didedikasikan khas untuk koleksi sedia pakai dan aksesori wanita.

Rentetan kepada sambutan yang menggalakkan daripada penonton, siri original popular ‘Dan Calonnya Adalah’ akan menemui anda semua bermula 18 Mei ini dengan musim kedua menerusi portal video no.1 Malaysia, TONTON. Drama komedi romantik 20 episod ‘DAN CALONNYA ADALAH 2’ ini menampilkan pelakon popular Aaron Aziz dan Zara Zya selaku peneraju utama.

Memandangkan drama ini berjaya mencuit lebih dari setengah juta penonton menerusi TONTON, Ma Chérie, selaku penaja utama musim kedua ini tampil bersama TONTON dalam menganjurkan peraduan atas talian ‘Pencarian Gadis Ma Chérie’ yang telah bermula sejak 24 Disember 2014 sehingga 1 Februari 2015 yang lalu. Seorang pemenang bertuah dan berbakat telah dipilih iaitu Nisha Rodzlan sekaligus mewakili Ma Chérie memegang watak Sherry dalam drama ini.

‘DAN CALONNYA ADALAH 2’ ini bermula dengan Aris (Aaron Aziz), anak kepada seorang hartawan yang dipaksa ibunya untuk mencari jodoh. Aris sebenarnya mempunyai seorang teman wanita bernama Yasmin (Mimi Lana). Mereka telah merancang untuk berkahwin tetapi personaliti Yasmin tidak disenangi oleh ibu Aris, Datin Zana (Helvera Susanti).

Apabila Aris meminta restu untuk berkahwin dengan Yasmin, Datin Zana meletakkan syarat bahawa Aris perlu terlebih dahulu keluar dengan 12 calon teman wanita. Niat Datin Zana adalah untuk memberi Aris peluang menilai dan menyedari bahawa terdapat ramai lagi wanita lain yang lebih bagus daripada Yasmin untuk dijadikan isteri. Fatin (Zara Zya), anak kepada pemandu mereka yang juga teman baik Aris, ditugaskan untuk membantu Aris sepanjang tempoh proses pencarian kerana kereta dan kad kredit dipunyai Aris sebelum ini ditarik kembali oleh ibunya.

Aris dan Fatin sememangnya akrab sejak kecil. Namun apabila meningkat dewasa, kedua mereka berhadap dengan masalah untuk mencari teman hidup. Fatin terlampau sibuk sehingga tiada masa untuk memikirkan soal jodoh. Aris pula sering berfoya-foya dengan ramai wanita sampai dia sendiri tidak tahu apa yang dia mahukan sebenarnya.

Pada masa yang sama, ayah Fatin mula risau dengan keadaan Fatin yang belum berpunya. Dia terpengaruh dengan pujukan Datin Zana untuk mendapatkan khidmat Miss Pooja (Susan Lankester), ejen cari jodoh yang sedang menguruskan pencarian 12 calon isteri Aris. Ini menimbulkan kemarahan Fatin dan Aris apabila mengetahui ibu bapa mereka bersungguh-sungguh mahu mengatur hidup mereka.

Pelbagai wanita telah Aris temui, masing-masing mempunyai karenah tersendiri. Semasa dalam proses pencarian itu, Aris terpikat dengan Sherry (Nisha Rodzlan) dan berniat untuk mengahwininya. Aris meluahkan hasratnya kepada Datin Zana. Walau bagaimanapun, Datin Zana berkeras mahu Aris mencukupkan kuota 12 orang calon terlebih dahulu sebelum membuat sebarang keputusan.

Siapakah yang akhirnya berjaya menawan hati Aris dan ibunya? Adakah Sherry bakal isteri Aris? Jangan lupa menyaksikan drama komedi romantik, ‘DAN CALONNYA ADALAH 2’ bermula 18 Mei ini, 12.30 tengah hari, 20 episod serentak, hanya di TONTON.

16-time Grammy winning music producer David Foster, together with pop icon Melanie C. were in town today to share their experiences as celebrity judges on AXN’s hit series, “Asia’s Got Talent”.

With the Grand Final Results episode airing this Thursday, 14 May at 8.05pm, both judges are gearing up for a thrilling, historic conclusion as the first  winner of “Asia’s Got Talent” will be crowned at the end of this week.

“Asia’s Got Talent” is the biggest talent competition in the world featuring some of the region’s most breathtaking, jaw-dropping and mind-blowing performing artists competing for the coveted title. The series has topped ratings in its timeslot among English general entertainment channels in Southeast Asia including Malaysia, among pay-TV audiences.

David said, “There is such a wealth of talent in this region waiting to be discovered. I firmly believe that the next superstar will emerge from Asia and we are already off to an exciting start in this incredible endeavor. We believe ‘Asia’s Got Talent’ can be the platform for this discovery and I am really proud to be a part of this wonderful journey.”

David and Melanie are joined on the “Asia’s Got Talent” celebrity judging panel by Taiwanese-American pop idol and actor Van Ness Wu and Indonesian rock icon and international recording artist, Anggun.

From thousands of hopefuls that auditioned last September, Malaysia saw 17 acts make it to the five “Asia’s Got Talent” auditions episodes. Among the four acts that received three or more ‘yeses’, Sarawak-based five-piece band ‘Sada Borneo’ featured in the third semi-final episode aired on 30 April.

During the auditions in the first five episodes of “Asia’s Got Talent”, each act had to receive at least three “Yeses” from the judging panel to stand a chance of advancing to the semi-finals. A highlight of that stage was the glittering “Golden Buzzer moments”, where each judge had one opportunity to send a brilliant act straight into the next round. In addition to the four golden buzzer acts, the judges picked 20 more acts were for the semi-finals.

From the three semi-final episodes, AXN viewers voted to select six acts, while the judges picked three acts for the Grand Final of “Asia’s Got Talent”. Aired on 7 May, the Grand Final saw the nine finalists perform and voting has since started and will close tonight at 11.59pm. The winner will be announced in the Grand Final Results episode airing on 14 May.

David said, “It was amazing to see so many wonderful performers showcase their skills and dedication to their art. I feel sad that we are coming to the end of this great series, yet I am looking forward to finding out which act viewers will pick as their winner. It promises to be a fantastic conclusion to a great competition.”

ASUS ZenUI on ZenFone 2 has been updated to provide a simpler and smarter user experience. To ensure ZenUI is always up-to-date, ASUS put more than 30 ZenUI apps in the Google Play, so each app can be updated separately without having to wait for a system update like on most other Android smartphones. There are only two ways out of the ONE Championship cage on fight night — one in victory and one in defeat. For Malaysian featherweight sensation Ev “E.T.” Ting (9-2), losing is not an option when he takes on feared Russian, the undefeated Marat “Cobra” Gafurov (10-0), at ONE: Warrior’s Quest which goes down in Singapore on Friday, May 22.

“Silly question, prepared would be an understatement,” said Ting, when asked if he is ready for his showdown with Gafurov. “I’ve been training too long and too hard to not be prepared.”

Ting’s task isn’t complicated by any stretch of the imagination. He’ll climb up the steps, showcase his signature brand of beatdown and raise hell inside the cage. There’s simply no other strategy that will be viable against a stud like Gafurov.

“He [Gafurov] is a world-class opponent, and like all fights, it is never easy,” said Ting. Gafurov at 10 wins is indeed a very tough matchup for anybody in the division, bar none. The Russian has a knack for grappling, with six submission victories to his name, as well as three stoppages and a decision win to round off his record.

Despite his opponent’s impressive credentials, Ting remains defiant. “[Gafurov] is undefeated for a reason — but he will not be prepared for what I have in store for him.”

Ting owns a win over the popular Will “The Kill” Chope — who he defeated by knockout — and exhilarating finishes over Filipinos Edward Kelly and Cary Bullos. Ting was also victorious in his ONE Championship debut last year, a 1st-round TKO over Yohan Mulia Legowo.

“My style matches up terribly against anybody,” said Ting before issuing a challenge to his next foe. “If [Gafurov] wants a boring fight he can grind me out with his grappling body lock… but if he wants to entertain, I will be in the center of that cage ready to bang.”

However, simply pursuing war inside the cage is but seemingly pointless in the grand scheme of things. Like all fighters, Ting draws strength from those close to him.

“I fight for my team, my family, my friends, for myself and for my legacy here on Earth,” said Ting. At an early age, Ting was already heavily invested in combat sports, and once he finished school, he looked to combat sports to drive his competitive nature.

Born in Malaysia but raised in New Zealand, Ting was always driven by his ambition to be the best in whatever he did. When a nearby gym opened up near his home in Auckland, Ting met Hamish Robertson, the mastermind behind Auckland MMA. It was then that fighting — under the tutelage of Hamish Robertson — became Ting’s profession of choice.

“[Robertson] crafts me into a better fighter everyday,” said Ting. “Training is always filled with great people, atmosphere and of course fun. Otherwise, I would not train.”

When fighters step into the cage, they put their lives on the line. Training makes up a great deal of a fight, and it’s these behind-the-scenes stories that determine whether or not a fighter is ready to go to war.

There is an uncanny beauty in combat sports that is found only in the solitude of the battleground, as two fighters stand across each other before the sound of the bell.

For Ev Ting, fighting is life, no matter how difficult it can be sometimes. “I wouldn’t say [training] is easy,” said Ting. “But it is easier for me than a 9-5 job.”

“There are a lot of reasons why I stay disciplined, but the most important would be trusting in my work and staying hungry for the ultimate prize.”

For now, the ultimate prize is within arm’s reach. The only obstacle standing in his way is a hissing cobra by the name of Marat Gafurov — but it’s one obstacle Ting is ready to barrel through.

A victory could line him up for a shot at the ONE Featherweight World Championship.

Idearts Creativo dengan kerjasama PLG (Park Lane Group of Company) bakal mengegarkan Malaysia dengan Konsert Lagenda (Jelajah Rock) tidak lama lagi. Dengan meletakkan barisan artis rock yang tidak asing lagi, Konsert Lagenda ini akan menjelajah ke seluruh Malaysia bermula Mei ini sehingga penghujung 2015. Antara barisan artis yang akan sama-sama dalam siri jelajah ini adalah Datuk Ramli Sarip, Awie, Mus May dan ratu rock Malaysia iaitu Ella. Selain dari mereka, Man Kidal akan turut serta dalam jelajah ini dan akan mengetuai kumpulan pemuzik sepanjang jelajah rock ini berlangsung.

Konsert yang bakal berlangsung selama 3 jam ini akan dimulakan di bumi kenyalang pada 31 Mei ini. Membuat pembukaannya di Stadium Tertutup Perpaduan Petrajaya Kuching, jelajah rock ini akan di teruskan pada minggu berikutnya ke Miri. Stadium Miri, Sarawak akan digegarkan oleh lagenda rock pada 6 Jun.

Jelajah rock ini akan diteruskan ke Semenanjung Malaysia selepas Aidilfitri. Bermula dengan Stadium Tertutup MPPG Pasir Gudang pada 30 Ogos dan akan diteruskan ke pandai timur pada 13 September di Stadium Tertutup SUKPA, Kuantan.

Impressing audiences through shadow plays of meaningful stories, El Gamma Penumbra was declared winner in the 10th and concluding Grand Final Results episode that premiered this evening at 8.05pm first on AXN.

The 12-strong El Gamma Penumbra team brings home the coveted “Asia’s Got Talent” title, the prize of US$100,000, and the opportunity to perform at Marina Bay Sands, where “Asia’s Got Talent” semi-finals, Grand Final and Grand Final Results shows were held. In addition, Jetstar added US$10,000 worth of flights to its network of 60 destinations across 16 countries in Asia as prizes, which were shared between the top two acts.

“Thank you so much for all the support and prayers for El Gamma Penumbra. We’ve been dreaming of this for a long time. Now that we’ve reached our dream it’s time for us to pay it back by giving wonderful and inspiring performances. Their winning Grand Final shadow play to the song “Colors of the Wind” was a touching tribute to Mother Earth that conveyed the importance of conservation. It brought judge Anggun to tears and earned David Foster’s praise for being “beautifully profound”.

Following the Grand Final episode that aired last Thursday, viewers’ votes were cast over four days via SMS, Facebook and the “Asia’s Got Talent” mobile app.

Towards the climactic end to this evening’s episode, El Gamma Penumbra and Mongolian throat singing band Khusugtun were revealed as the top two acts. Both reprised their Grand Final performances, El Gamma Penumbra with their tribute to Mother Earth while Khusugtun took viewers on their spellbinding vocal and instrumental musical “journey” through Mongolia, before the Filipino act was declared the winner.

In the Grand Final, El Gamma Penumbra also beat two other golden buzzer semi-final acts, the newly-engaged Chinese dancers Gao and Lin, and exuberant Filipino dance group Junior New System; together with five other acts voted by viewers into the Grand Final including Japanese dance group Triqstar; Filipino classical singer Gerphil Flores; aspiring Thai rockers The Talento; 10 year old Filipino singer Gwyneth Dorado; and young Singapore tap dance group Dance Thrilogy.

El Gamma Penumbra was fast-tracked into the Grand Final at Marina Bay Sands as the joint golden buzzer decision of the judges from their semi-final shadow play performance around the theme of world peace. Prior to that, El Gamma Penumbra wowed with their first piece that told the touching love story of a couple and won Anggun’s golden buzzer in the judges’ auditions.

In addition to crowning the winner, all nine Grand Finalist acts featured in a dazzling medley of “Turn Up the Music” by Chris Brown.

Performing together for the very first time were “Asia’s Got Talent” celebrity judges including 16-time Grammy-winning Canadian musician and record producer David Foster; UK pop sensation and former Spice Girl Melanie C.; Indonesian rock icon and international recording artist Anggun; as well as Taiwanese-American pop idol and actor Van Ness Wu.

The four stars sang a crowd-pleasing rendition of the catchy single ‘Let’s Groove’ by Earth, Wind and Fire. The special track is now available for download with all proceeds donated to the earthquake victims of Nepal.

David Foster was also reunited with his protégé, Filipino songstress Charice for a duet of the song “Lay Me Down’. Charice was the first Asian solo artist in history to make it into the Top 10 of the Billboard 200 albums chart.

Anggun performed her signature hit song, ‘Snow on the Sahara’ complete with awe-inspiring orchestral accompaniment. The single was first released in 1997 in 33 countries worldwide, topped music charts in Italy and Indonesia, and made the top 20 in Finland, France, Japan, Spain and the US.

Australian illusionist-escapologist Consentino, himself the runner-up of “Australia’s Got Talent” in 2011, also graced the occasion. Consentino had audiences transfixed with his breath-taking grand staged illusion for the first time in Asia.

The Grand Final Results show brought the curtains down on “Asia’s Got Talent” which has made AXN the no.1 rated pay-TV channel collectively in Southeast Asia (which include Singapore, Malaysia, and the Philippines) and Taiwan, among all pay-TV audiences in its timeslot.[1]

Billed as the biggest talent competition in the world, “Asia’s Got Talent” features some of the region’s most breath-taking, jaw-dropping and mind-blowing performing artists competing for the coveted title. In the judges’ auditions of “Asia’s Got Talent”, each act had to receive at least three “Yeses” from the esteemed celebrity judging panel who then selected 24 of the most dazzling performances from 240 hopefuls from 15 territories across Asia. Those who made it into the semi-finals and the Grand Final gave their all to win the hearts and votes of viewers who ultimately decided the winner of “Asia’s Got Talent”.

“Telur goreng adalah resipi yang sentiasa dipercayai oleh kaum ibu. Kami berharap kaum ibu akan menggunakan cara masakan ini yang dapat membantu dalam tumbesaran anak-anak mereka,“ tambah Joel.

Pada acara yang berlangsung di pusat membeli-belah terkemuka, 1 Utama, orang awam telah diberi peluang untuk menyertai Perang “Resipi Telur Goreng”. Orang awam dan pihak media diberi peluang merasa dan meneka perbezaan telur yang digoreng dengan Planta dan telur yang digoreng menggunakan minyak masak melalui ujian rasa itu. Selepas itu, mereka diberi peluang untuk mengundi resipi pilihan mereka.

Pelakon dan ibu kepada dua orang anak, Sharifah Sofia, juga turut serta dalam demonstrasi memasak telur goreng dan “Perang” Resipi Telur Goreng. Sharifah juga telah berkongsi pengalaman menambah telur goreng sebagai cara supaya anak sulungnya, Sharifah Ariana, berumur 4 tahun untuk menjamah nasi dan sandwic. Beliau akui keenakan telur goreng yang dimasak dengan Planta bakal menjadi resipi kesukaan ramai.

“Pengalaman hari ini membuktikan bahawa telur goreng Planta mempunyai rasa yang enak, lebih beraroma dengan tekstur warna yang menyelerakan, serta nampak menarik apabila dihidang. Menjelang beberapa hari sahaja sebelum acara tersebut, terdapat desas-desus bahawa seorang jutawan telah menawarkan RM1 juta untuk membeli hak cipta resipi telur goreng yang dikhabarkan telah memberi kejutan besar kepada kaum ibu. Kemudiannya, didapati bahawa resipi yang telah menambat hati jutawan tersebut adalah resipi telur goreng Planta.
